Jaap Mazereeuw will be appointed Deputy Director Business Processes

With the growth and further internationalization of Enza Zaden as well as the consequential increase of business processes, it is decided to enhance the Board of Directors with a Deputy Director Business Processes.

Management and co-ordination of quality improvement projects

Jaap Mazereeuw, now holding the position of Crop Research Manager, will be appointed Deputy Director Business Processes as of 1 October 2010. In this position, Jaap will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of quality improvement projects, which will be executed in close cooperation with the responsible managers within the Staff, R&D, Seed Operations and Marketing & Sales departments. A first analysis Jaap has already made with regard to this topic, shows that Enza Zaden can considerably improve its efficiency and quality in this field. Jaap will report to the General Director, which is Ed Veltkamp, Delegated Commissioner, in the current situation.

Jaap graduated his plant breeding studies at Wageningen University in 1995. Subsequently, he immediately joined Enza Zaden as a breeder and as Station Manager for the subsidiary in Turkey.
When the new subsidiary in Turkey was completely established in 2002, Jaap moved back to the Netherlands again to start his position as Crop Breeding Manager and later, since 1 January 2007, as Crop Research Manager, both related to the Cucurbits portfolio.

Jaap is 39 years old and married to Wiesje Mazereeuw. They have three daughters together.
The reasons to appoint Jaap Mazereeuw as Deputy Director Business Processes is his broad experience in managerial posts, his knowledge of the seed industry and his affinity for the business processes within Enza Zaden.

The Supervisory Board and the Board of Directors are confident that this appointment of Jaap Mazereeuw will contribute considerably to improve and optimize the Enza Zaden business processes.
